Cyber Counsellor can help you with a wide range of issues, including social anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem. Our therapists will work with you to develop a treatment plan that meets your unique needs and goals.

The frequency of counseling sessions with Cyber Counsellor will depend on your individual needs and goals. Some clients may benefit from weekly sessions, while others may attend bi-weekly or monthly.

Social anxiety is when someone feels very nervous, worried, or afraid in social situations—like talking to new people, answering questions in class, or being the center of attention. It’s more than shyness; it can make everyday activities feel stressful. The good news is that social anxiety is treatable, and with the right support, children and youth can build confidence and feel more comfortable in social settings.

Counselling gives children and youth a safe space to learn coping skills, understand their anxious thoughts, and practice new behaviors that build confidence. We work together to reduce fear, manage stress, and support them in facing social situations step by step.

Exposure therapy is a gentle, supportive method where children and youth practice facing situations that make them anxious—starting with the easier ones and gradually working up. It’s always done at their pace and with encouragement. This helps their confidence grow and shows them they can handle situations that once felt scary.

Yes! We offer in-person counselling, virtual video sessions, mobile sessions, and community-based support so families can choose what works best for them.

We work with children, teens, and young adults who are looking for support with social anxiety, confidence-building, emotional skills, and life transitions.

We accept credit cards, e-transfers, and direct payment at the time of the session.

Many insurance plans cover counselling provided by registered  Social Workers. We encourage families to check with their provider to see what their plan includes. We can provide receipts for reimbursement if your plan offers coverage. Depending on the insurance company, we can do direct billing to your insurance company.

Sessions are typically 50 minutes long, but we can adjust the length to accommodate the needs of the child or youth. For social anxiety exposure, the session can be broken down into mini-sessions of about 30 minutes.

You can contact us through our website, email, or phone. We’re happy to answer questions and help you find a time that works best for your family.

For younger children, parents may be involved in the beginning or end of the session. For teens, we usually focus on giving them space, but we include parents when helpful or necessary. We always aim to support the whole family.

We understand that life can get busy. If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, we ask for at least 24 hours’ notice. This allows us to offer the appointment time to another family who may need it. Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice may be subject to a fee.

Yes. Everything your child or teen shares in counselling is private and kept confidential. The only times we may need to share information are if there is a safety concern or if the law requires it. We always explain confidentiality in clear, age-appropriate ways so children and youth feel safe and understood.

The first session is all about getting to know your child or teen and helping them feel comfortable. We talk about what brings them in, what goals they have, and how counselling works. It’s relaxed, supportive, and designed to help them feel safe while we build a plan together.

You may notice your child or teen avoiding social situations, feeling overwhelmed, having trouble making friends, or worrying a lot about being judged. They might also struggle with confidence or feel anxious at school. If these challenges are getting in the way of their daily life, counselling can help them feel more supported and capable.

Every child and teen is different. Some begin to feel better after a few sessions, while others benefit from longer-term support. We work at a pace that feels comfortable, checking in regularly to make sure the goals are being met.

Yes. We can help with issues like school anxiety, classroom participation, peer relationships, and building confidence in academic settings. We also offer strategies that families and schools can use to support your child’s progress.

Parents play an important role in helping children and teens build confidence. You can support them by listening without judgment, encouraging small steps toward social situations, and celebrating progress—not perfection. Creating calm routines, practicing coping skills together, and modeling confidence can also make a big difference. We’ll give you simple strategies to use at home so you feel supported, too.

Virtual sessions are easy to join. You’ll need a device with a camera and microphone (like a phone, tablet, or computer) and a stable internet connection. Headphones can help with privacy, and finding a quiet space helps your child or teen feel more comfortable. We’ll send you a secure link before each session—just click and join.
